Dr. Soni Mahato is the Founder/ Director of Sony’s WeCare Pvt. Ltd. She is Secretary General at the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI ), Women Entrepreneur Committee, Since 2022. She is also Treasurer at Nepal Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NSCCI), since 2021. And board member of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce Industries (FNCCI) Province 2, Nepal.
Also, Dr. Mahato is a Social Entrepreneur and Founder President of Initiative for Social Development (ISD). ISD has taken initiatives to bring changes in nepalese society. A Dental Surgeon graduated from Manipal University, karnataka, India, would have chosen Dentistry as her carrier but she choose to contribute in society and went to University of Glasgow, Scotland and did her Master in Public & Urban Policy to get into details of social development. Her vision focuses on the betterment of Women Health & child nutrition, Family Health, Education Promotion and Youth Empowerment. She has conducted various programs and campaign about safe motherhood, Women Health issues especially about awareness for Cervical Cancer and PAP Smear Test, Menstrual Hygiene, Child Nutrition, and Gender violation in the rural parts of Nepal. Also, food and clothes donations , and blood donation camps in Madhesh Province & Bagmati province Nepal.
Recently, she had successfully organized the “Nepal- India International Women Entrepreneur’s Conclave 2023!” in association with Global Indian Mission (GIMI) India, which was held on 10th September2023. The program was inaugurated by Honorable Foreign Minister of Nepal,N.P Saud, along with Indian Embassy officials, Bagmati province deputy Mayors of all supporting municipalities and high officials.
She has been awarded from Indo-Myanmar friendship Association Nari Shakti Ek Nayi Pahal Foundation, 2024. She was awarded from World Book of Record London for promoting safety against Covid-19, also to guide for prevention of coronavirus disease as specified by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021. She was also awarded and voted as Nepal’s 3rd Top Women Leaders 2016 out of 75 Women Leaders. She believes that to bring positive and dynamic changes in the society one has to take initiative to create awareness and utilize the available resources. She thinks that full dedication in social work can bring the necessary changes in the society.
